Lithium battery classification

Lithium batteries are usually divided into two categories:


Lithium metal batteries: Lithium metal batteries are generally the use of manganese dioxide cathode material, metal lithium or its alloy metal anode materials, the use of non-aqueous electrolyte solution batteries.


Lithium-ion battery: Lithium-ion battery is generally used lithium-metal oxide as cathode material, graphite anode material, the use of non-aqueous electrolyte batteries.


Although lithium metal batteries have high energy density, theoretically 3860 W / kg can be achieved. However, due to its nature is not stable enough and can not be charged, it can not be used as a power battery. Lithium-ion batteries have been developed as the main power battery because of their ability to charge repeatedly. However, due to its different elements, the composition of the cathode material varies widely in various aspects, resulting in the industry increasing disputes over the route of the cathode material.
